Hi,

I get errors reported by 4SEO that tell me that the metadescription of an article is used twice. (See attachement for an example of this.)

I never succeeded in finding the second article using this metadescription, but today stumbled on the metadescription of the blog page which uses the metadescripton of the first of the set articles that is presented on that page.

This seems to generate the error desbribed.

Is this something Joomla does? And is there a way to avoid it? Or is this something 4SEO does?

Can you advise me about the best way to deal with it?

Thanks!

Cheers,

Paul

Hi

Make sure to always include a full and real URL of the page you are discussing. Your screenshot is showing OpenGraph tags, not meta description, so I can't say for sure who exactly is creating that description.

4SEO will be creating that description automatically if none is present. So if you have not provided a description for that page, either in Joomla or in 4SEO, then 4SEO creates one based on the text of the page, and indeed as the automatic description is built from the first few lines of text on the page, that's going to be based on the first article.

Can you advise me about the best way to deal with it?

If you feel this has any importance, just like with any other page on your site, manually enter a description for that page, either in Joomla or 4SEO.
As meta description don't really have any importance in SEO, you can also just leave it like that if "fixing" would require significant time, that you'd be better off spending elsewhere.

Best regards
