Yannick,

We are implementing / turning on the analytics portion with 4SEO.  We have a google search console account.

We also have a google analytics 4 account and have that setup with joomla shack, shack analytics.  Our head of communications owns all of these GA4 accounts for all 120 of our websites, so they can always have access as needed.

What is the difference between them?  By implementing analytics with 4SEO, is that a good way for us to have the site owners to be able to view page analytics and page hits?

Thank you very much, we appreciate your explanation.

Hi

We are implementing / turning on the analytics portion with 4SEO. We have a google search console account.

Google Search Console and Analytics are unrelated.

By implementing analytics with 4SEO,

4SEO does not implement any form of website analytics itself.

In terms of Analytics, the only thing it does (but does very well!) is to let you inject in your pages the code snippets required by various providers (including GA4). 4SEO documentation on the matter is here.

What 4SEO has is a connection to the Google Search Console, which lets it:

- display inside your 4SEO admin how your site is performing in Google search results

- from this raw data (which you can get directly from the Google Search Console website), 4SEO can compute different things and identify improvements area to your site which should yield improvements in search performance, and shows them to you under SEO Insights (this info you cannot get directly from the Google Search Console). Documentation is here.

So in short:

- Analytics (Google GA4, Matomo, others) measures what happens on your site

- Google Search Console measures what happens on Google search results page (at google.com)

Best regards

Yannick Gaultier
