Reduced schedule during conference and annual break

We'll be operating with a reduced schedule from tomorrow and the next few weeks, as follows:

We'll be travelling and attending JoomlaDay USA from Tuesday April 22 to Friday April 25. Support will have extended response time during this period. From April 25 evening to Tuesday May 12 included, support will be closed for our annual break.

Don't forget to look up the documentation, including the videos, your answer may already be there! Likewise, be sure to check the Development versions area, in case your problem may already have been solved.

In case of emergency (ie your site is down with a fatal error directly linked to one of our extensions), please contact us by email (see contact icon at the bottom of all pages of this site)

Hello,

How do I exclude external images from the sitemap images? Such as images from graph.facebook etc? The Exclusion panel under "Sitemap  settings > Images" only seems to support  excluding internal images...

Plus, another question: if I add a new image exclusion rule, eg. change the minimum image size, or adding an excluded URL pattern, do I really have to reset the whole Site Analysis for it to take effect? Or just regenerating the sitemap is enough?

There's an "Excluded domains" input field there as well.

It needs full analysis.

Ah right, sorry. I see that.

It needs full analysis.

That sucks, how comes? I really wouldn't want to reset the whole analysis (not now, but also not ever again), as I don't want for all the Pages list to be reset, with thousands and thousands of pages I'd rather keep what's there in there. So I'd like to avoid resetting the analysis if possible.

Why regenerating the sitemap is not enough? As it's just a sitemap-related setting?

Hi

Why regenerating the sitemap is not enough? As it's just a sitemap-related setting?

There is no such thing as "sitemap". The sitemap is only an extract from the list of pages. If you change the sitemaps inclusion/exclusion rules, then all URLs in the database have to be ran against the new rules set and that table updated.

In theory it could be done, but it'd require to be sophisticated (ie process in small batches) to run even on larger sites. So the current method is to reset analysis.

Hi again,

Oh and in addition, I must also apply the Sitemaps exclusions rules such as exclude if older than x days, or if archived or just based on the usual rule triggers (ie a component, a language, a view, a category,...), all things that cannot be ran against the database but have to be checked when the page is rendered by Joomla, as is during backend analysis.
