I would like to have domain.com/XY23 to redirect to domain.com/long-url-x-and-z but users might as well write /xY23 or /Xy23 or /xy23

Is there an easy way to make the redirect case insensitive besides writing all four variations? Because i also have longer redirects with same issue.

I also use 4SEF and have the "convert to lowercase" enabled in both but doesn't help.

Hi,

That's not possible at the moment but it's indeed a good option to have so I'll add that in a future version, assuming there's no significant impact on performance.

I also use 4SEF and have the "convert to lowercase" enabled in both but doesn't help.

That's not related to what you want to do, 4SEF creates the URLs on your site, it does not do redirects of course, and has no impact on what URL typed in by a user can be.

Looking forward to that update!

Is there a way to use Regex expression or /i modifier?

Or is it better to just write a list with the four variations?

Hi

You can use RegExp here, but from recollection we don't take modifiers into account, need to check.

So if you have only have a handful of variations, creating variations is fine.

Note that you do not have to create multiple rules, you can do:

Thanks. Thats how I solved it so far (writing 4 URLs in one rule).

Hope that the update will be available soon :-)

Hi

I have added that option to the current development version (get it from the development versions download area ). Just install over and create or update your existing url to enable "Disregard case".

Please test extensively, not only if that option works as expected but also that other rules are not broken.

Working fine with

/xy23
/XY23
/Xy23
/xY23

I do not use other type of redirect so can not verify or report any issues.

Thanks!

Hi

OK, fair enough. This will be in next official release but you can keep using the one you have without issue.
