I have noted that when using the 4AI, the meta description is changing when i save it. However when I go into 4seo for the same article the changes dont exist. Kindly advise why - please see 2 screen shots of the same article

Yes, there's no relationship between the 2. 4SEO will only notice that the description has changed later, when someone visit that page. It will then put that page back on the list of pages to be re-analyzed.
Once that page has been re-analyzed, the updated description will appear on the page.
Note that this has no effect on the other things where 4SEO uses the meta description such as in OpenGraph tags or in structured data: the correct description is always used. Simply the display in the admin can take more time to be updated.
