Hi,

for a couple of days now, 4AI can no longer access to modules (custom HTML module) and to other sections of the site, such as Hikashop products and categories, I get a blurred screen and no way to go back except by using the browser button.
No problem with Joomla articles and categories.

Any idea why?

Thanks,
Lorenzo

Hi

Any idea why?

What happened 2 days ago, or just before that?

, I get a blurred screen

This would indicate a javascript error, likely caused by javascript coming from another extension. I'd suggest opening up your developer tools console to see if any error shows up there.

Best regards

4AI has been displaying a blurred screen for 2 days now, not always but often for custom HTML and Hikashop modules...
Now it works, but I don't know for how long.
I'll keep you informed. Thanks.

Hi

Yes, that's why I asked what happened before two days ago. Did you update anything? Obviously, something else is interfering here.

...it seems that the problem is related to JCE...

Hi

What are your exact and full versions of:

- Joomla

- 4AI

- JCE

Also: what browser are you using and on which operating system?

I use JCE both on Joomla 3, 4 and 5 and I don't seem to have any problem.

Hi

ok, nothing special. How about:

Also: what browser are you using and on which operating system?

- Do you use JCH?

- And then: have you spoken to JCE? cause I can't reproduce this. I have tested on all my machines, all my sites, all seems to be working normally.

I use Firefox (the latest version) on Mac OS 12 (Monterey), but the problem is also present on Chrome...

Have you tried 4AI when you're working in JCE with the “code” tab? Because this is the interface where it happens.

- Do you use JCH?

No I don't use JCH, not on this site.

I'm going to contact the developer of JCE because I'm pretty sure the problem has emerged since the latest updates of its component

Ah ok, that was the missing information...

But no luck: it works fine for me on my mac, both on Chrome and Safari.

I'm going to contact the developer of JCE because I'm pretty sure the problem has emerged since the latest updates of its component

would be good to have his opinion but still pretty odd as I'm using all the same versions as you are and I don't reproduce that. It may well be another extension interfering.

Hi,
I've noticed a detail that may help to identify the bug, the process for reproducing it is as follows.
If you open the custom HTML module with the “code” tab for the first time, everything goes without a hitch, it's only when you open the module for the second time that it happens and then it's the same every time you open the module in "code" mode, maybe it's related to a session issue?

Maybe if you can try on your side before I contact JCE developer...?

Here a short screencast to illustrate the bug: http://u.pc.cd/TIB

Nope, I can open the "Image" custom HTML module in code mode, using JCE (latest) 10 times in a row and 4AI opens up as expected. That's not it. I don't think this is coming from 4AI to be honest.

We can see in your screenshot that it's JCE throwing an error ("iframe.getSelection is not a function") and whatever the circumstances, it's still where the error happens, not inside of 4AI, so I don't even have anywhere to look at in 4AI. Because the error happens in JCE.

just for information, the developer has fixed the bug with an update

Hi

Glad to hear that. Did he figured out why this was happening on your site and nowhere else? what was specific to the site?

Here his reply:

"I was able to reproduce this, as there was a bug in the Code Editor.
Perhaps the 4AI Developer didn't have the latest version of JCE Pro installed, or had JCE Core installed instead?"

Hi

or had JCE Core installed instead?"

Yes, I think on that test site it's only JCE Core. But on weeblr.com, I have JCE Pro, same version as you, latest, and I never experienced that.

Anyway, glad they sorted it out.
