Hello,

I'm using the K2 component for my content. I got blog posts and normal content. For the normal content I'm using K2 categories as sites.

For example:

- Services <- used to be a link
- Service 1 <- no need for a link
- Service 2 <- no need for a link
- Service 3 <- no need for a link

- Contact <- used to be a link
- Contact 1 <- no need for a link
- Contact 2 <- no need for a link

Is it possible to tell sh404SEF to create only the URL for the categories and not the articeles inside the categorie. But not for all categories. The categorie witch are used for the blog need the URLs for the articeles inside.

I hope I could explain my problem understandable. Thanks for help.

Hi

Nothing like this is possible, and I'm not aware of any solution for that, short of creating a custom plugin to solve just your case.

What would be the effort?

Hi

Unfortunately, we're not available to produce custom software at the moment.

Also, after reading again your first post, I'm not sure I understood correctly the first time:
Is it possible to tell sh404SEF to create only the URL for the categories and not the articeles inside the categorie.
if sh404SEF doesn't create the URLs for this articles, you will have the original Joomla URLs instead (yoursite.com/index.php?option=com_k2&id=xxx).

Why would you want that?

Or maybe what you mean is that you don't want the links to be displayed at all? In that case, this has nothing to do with sh404SEF of course. The content displayed is entirely decided by K2. sh404SEF is only in charge of transforming non-sef URLs into SEF URLs.

Correct. I don't want the links for the articles in some categories. Unfortunately I have not found a way to disable it in K2, so i hoped to do that with sh404SEF.

Is there at least a way to redirect some created SEF-Links to a 404 page?

Like I said, sh404SEF has no bearing on a page content. It only takes care of links (and meta data and other things but no that).

Nope, that's not possible. WHat you can do is redirect to another page, by creating aliases.

To be honest, I don't understand what you're trying to do here. What's the use of displaying a category if you don't display the articles in it?
One way or the other, I think you'll more likely to find ways to achieve what you want on the K2 support forum. What I understand of your question has to do with K2 display layout and content, not with URLs or SEO.

This is my website: http://xxxx/leistungen/online-medien

If you look to this website you will see 5 sections (1x Head and 4x Content). Every of this sections is an article inside a category. I am aware that this is not the best way to use the K2 component, but I needed for every of this section custom fields.

I'll try to get support by K2. Maybe they have a solution for my weird problem :)

Many thanks for the help.

Regards from Germany :)

Hi

OK. Looked at your site. Still think each of these sections could be done as a module maybe?
Don't know what special field you need from k2, the content doesn't look like it has special fields.
