I have my sh404 SEF set to use a | separator and append the name of my site to the end of the page title.

When you view the website the spaces and separator don't show up. I actually had to had the spaces and separator TO the Append field in order to get them to show up.

Thought I should let you know!

Hi

I just checked and this seems to work fine.

First, you have to know that the "Append to title" field is not used on home page. If you want to customize home page title and meta, you should use the "Home page meta" button available on URL manager and Title and metas manager pages.

Second, the "Page title Separator" is used when a page title as calculated by sh404SEF has multiple parts, and we need to stitch them together. Typically, an article will have a title made up with: article title followed by category title. That's two parts. By default, sh404SEF will create such a title as:
Article title | Category title
A character or a string set in "Page title separator" field will change will replace the default "|" separator.

The "Append to page title" ("Insert before title" is the same) is just a raw text that you may want to append to your title. It's not separated from the rest of the title by anything - specifically, the "Page title separator" will not be used. You're in control here, you can set whatever you want to be appended to the title.

Please let me know if that's the problem.
