 Hello,

in our main menu we have a entry "category list" for Joomla articles (twitter).
http://www.xxxx.com/twitter

If sh404sef is activated and we click on this menu, we always go to the home page...

Do you have a idea to fix this ?

Thank you for any help.
Regard.

Hi

1 - What's the non-sef URL registered for this url in the URL manager? If there are several, please list them all.
2 - Can you check if you don't have an alias created for "twitter" under the alias manager?

Hi

On your site, I can see that you have actually 2 Twitter menut items, and both are linked to /twitter urls?
What is that and what are those 2 menu items?

Can you please provide superadmin credentials, I may be able to find something wrong.
Also, do you have an actual folder named /twitter at the root fo your web site?
Any redirect rules in your .htaccess?

Yes the 2 twitter menu items if for testing.
The good one is "twitter". You can delete the "tweet2" menu entry if you want.

Hi

I could login fine. I went to sh404SEF URL manager, searched for the /twitter URL. It had 4 duplicates: see https://weeblr.com/images/screenshots/5GDENxUNrjSktutI1BaxdjnDyyghgX.png

As you can see, the first URL has an Itemid=640, which is your home page. That's the URL sh404SEF uses when /twitter is requested by a user.
So I changed that, by using the "Make main" button, to select the URL with Itemid=1459 (the actual "Twitter" menu item). See: https://weeblr.com/images/screenshots/c9GHZ56NZcbr8xW2uUqeOdlFdt02p5.png

This seems to be working now, pleas double check.

I don't know here you got those initial non-sef urls, with the wrong Itemid, I ahve to assume that at some time you linked to the "Twitter" category directly from the home page, or from a module there for instance.

Hello,

ok thank you very much for your explananation.

1/ It is very important for us to understand. To be independat for the next time we'll have this problem. And fix it by ourself.
So where did you take the screenshot https://weeblr.com/images/screenshots/5GDENxUNrjSktutI1BaxdjnDyyghgX.png ?
It was not in the Configuration manager / Aliases manager ?

2 / the menu is working very well, but if we click on the page 2 or 3, we are going to the home page agin... We tried to reproduce your fix, but can'tundrstand how to find duplicate alias...

Thank you.

Regard.

Ok about the point 2, it is ok now.
We completely delete all the record (purge)

But don't forget to explain the point 1...

Hi

The main page in sh404SEF is the URL manager. That's where all your URLs are listed. https://weeblr.com/images/screenshots/8aGNLAGdbyx3zkuouIAQafMoxMmXlr.png

So if Joomla creates duplicated URLs for the same content, this will be listed under the "Duplicates" column. The orange badge shows how many duplicates Joomla! created.
Important: this is for your information. Duplicates are handled automatically by sh404SEF and search engines and real users don't see them.

If however you are seeing some bad Itemid issues, you click on that orange badge and you get to the screen I showed to you.

One more thing.

You seem to be using the word "alias" a lto. Aliases are NOT URLs, and is a secondary feature of sh404SEF. Aliases are not involved in your Itemid problem, you should not use the Aliases manager in anyway for that.
