Hey guys, just purchased this extension. Got this error:

sh404SEF system plugin has been disabled or has failed initializing. Please enable it again to use sh404SEF, with Joomla! plugin manager

They are all enabled. I disabled them,, cleared cache and reenabled with no luck.

PS. I have had sef installed long ago - maybee there is some leftovers somewhere ?

Can you try uninstalling and reinstalling sh404SEF?
This sounds like something went wrong in the installation process.

Hi

I have tried uninstalling. That didn't work, so i deleted via ftp and also deleted al files i database.
I have followed several suggestions in forum here and elsewere :/
With no luck.
Also I so another guy having problem with a table he overlooked in database - so i was very thorough myself. And im certain that everything was deleted from sql.

Hi,

If you deleted all the related tables to sh404SEF and the entries in extension table, then you can remove the directories manually and this is the same as doing an automated uninstall.

Yes but i did get an error doing the standard auto uninstall - so thats why i had to do the uninstall manually.
Anyway - conclusion so far: completely remove all traces of sh404sef, fresh install, all plugins show ok, but no cigar on selecting ANY of the menu components...

Yes its in the admin,
i made a small vid to show. Coudent get it under 2 mb - dont have the tools :(

Please do not take into account ANY information you find elsewhere. Most of them are invalid, including those found on the company we used previously for support, before we started doing support again ourselves.

pretty sure you didn't.

I can only shoot in the dark here, as your site is obviously damaged by the manual uninstallation, but I'd guess the malfunction is linked to the shLib plugin being either obsolote, or wrongly installed, etc

What can you report on the shLib library?
Please report any action you take and most importantly report any error message you see on your screen in full. Tools like monosnap.com (that's what we use here) are very helpful to do that.

After refresh page - sh404SEF plugins still exist.

Regarding shLib, im not much into sql. I did take two screens of the two tables, "consumers and resources" (attached)

Only thing that pushed me were they seem to have different version numbers and SAME ID

Hi

What I assume is happening is that you removed shLib, but not those 2 tables.

Here is what I suggest from there:
- look up the shLib system plugin. If you find it, uninstall it
- after uninstalling shLib, check the 2 db tables, shlib_consumers and shlib_resources in the database. If they are still there, delete them from the DB
- now install sh404SEF again. It should say during install that it "installed shLib"
- go make sure the shLib system plugin is installed and enabled
- visit an sh404SEF page in the backend to to confirm operation.

If this fails, we're gonna need a full site backup, so that we can look directly.

Unnstalled shlib

Checked database, shlib_consumers and shlib_resources was NOT parent, so they were uninstalled successfully.

Reinstalled sh404SEF

It seems that it does not install shilb system plug correctly (see attached)
BUT i checked the database and there were new entries to shlib_consumeres and shill_resources - so database should hold new information

It seems that it does not install shilb system plug correctly (see attached)

You cannot see shLib on this screenshot. you do a search on "404", so it's not displayed. Search for "sh" or "shlib"

For some reason unknown to me it seems that the sh404sef is now working !
I have no idea why that is. Im going to test it now, so for the time being we can close this thread?

Glad to hear that. One thing comes to mind: maybe you're running opCache on your server? and the opCache caching settings are not optimum. If that happens, you may have some parts of sh404SEF from the previous install, and some from the new install?
