#905 – Problem with 404 pages

 Hi there

I have an issue in my installation of sh4040sef on joomla! 3.4.3: when I type a non-existing URL, instead of the 404 error page, I get a blank page with the following error on it:

jos-Error: Articolo non trovato

The configuration of sh404sef is set to:

- don't try to redirect page
- override joomla 404 page

To my understanding, I shall see a 404 page that is configurable under sh404sef->configuration->error page->default 404 page, but instead I'm getting such strange message.

How to correct it ?

Hi Andrea,

Although my Italian are not in very good shape I think the message says: Article not found!.
Can you please check that you DO have an article with title __404__
Checking your trashed articles might be a good place to start.
If you did deleted that article you need to restore it and publish it (if is not deleted then most probably is just unpublished).

This should restore the 404 page.

Could you please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterwards, but it must have superuser level.

OK now I disabled also sh4040sef security. I don't have anythiung else on, except maybe my hosting company security ? I don't have access to it myself. :-(

It is sill unreachable. Most probably you have to ask your host to allow the IP’s from Greece to access your administrator area.

But then I don't know what happens. Have you tried from another station or with different proxy or machine ?

OK looks like tonite we're not able to get it solved. I'm leaving the support account on, but I'm resetting the security features as I don't think they are the cause of you being unable to log in. Please let me know in case you are able to, or have anything to suggest to solve the sh404sef issue thanks!

Can you post two images one from the articles list and another from categories list (do some filtering with 404)?

I should be able to guide you as long as I get some input.

You did delete the category for the 404 article. Most probably should be still in your trash, can you restore it and make sure that is published?
