Hi,
guys I need canonical urls but without managing titles and other meta tags, is it possible to leave just canonicals somehow?

ps I have other extension that manages titles and other meta data.

Regards,
Slavik

Hi Slavik,

One good thing with the Joomla’s architecture is the way plugins execute. Specifically in your case if you set the other plugin to execute after sh404SEF and you don’t set meta and title in sh404SEF then canonical will be managed by sh404SEF and the rest by the other plugin.

The plugin type defines the order(sequence) area, another words I cant set the order in my plugin if it belong to "content" plugin type and yours plugins are in other type, like "sh404sefcore", "sh404sefextplugins", "system" (In the order list I can see only plugins with type "content").

No matter where we using setTitle method (onBeforeCompileHead, onContentPrepare) and even if plugin set as last in order, it doesnt work.

It seems that plugins with type sh404sefextplugins or sh404sefcore start to work as last ones.

Hi

Currently, sh404SEF uses a custom method to set all meta data, exactly so that it can overrides values of any extension on a site. It may change in the future, actually I have some code for that, but it's undecided yet.

This code works? Can I use it right now as a temporary solution?

Hi

It should be in next version, which is scheduled for mid-september. In the mean time, you can downlaod a test version from here (https://copy.com/xxxx), but that's not to be used on production site.

Please report any issue you find on this ticket.
