Hi Bob,

It seems that this menu for most of the entries end up in the category view stretchers: http://www.xxxx.com/stretchers/
except the links for spine board and pole stretcher which are pointing to the correct pages.

Can you check that all the menus pointing to the relevant article?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

yes, I did make all the menus pointed to each K2 categories.

When I set in the components, K2, change from "use default handler" to "leave as non-sef", all menus works fine, but urls are original, that's now what I want.

How can I fix this problem? is there anyone meet the same problem as mine?

Regards.
Bob.

Hi,

I need to see your configuration.
K2 got a native sh404SEF plugin so the handler should be left as "Use default handler".

Could you please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterwards, but it must have superuser level.

Hi Bob,

You had changed the handler as I said above but this is not required.
Also you menu items on the sitar menu are duplicates of your main menu. If you want to replicate menus is better to do it like this:

This way you want be creating duplicate content and is far easier to maintain.

I think now you get what you want

Hi,

I don't think that's the reason, I created the same menu name yesterday, just for testing, but the problem happened since I installed the SH404sef, like 2 weeks ago.

Now I had removed these menus from the main menu, and got K2 "use the default handler", now I hit each sidebar menu item, all goes to my homepage, it shows "the page you requested was not found in our website", why's this happen?

besides, only the "Rehabilitation exerciser" menu working, others not, but I'm using the same configuration.

regarads.

it maybe because of duplicates urls, like the attached pictures, why there're two mains?

"Joomla! may created several non-sef urls going to the same page", that's not true, when I was using joomla SEF, all K2 items and menus working just fine. maybe it's SH404sef creating several urls going to the same page? how can I stop it creating?

Hi,

I used the purge button, and some of the menus works normally.

then I delete all the menus which can't point to their own K2 category.

Then I recreate four menus, they're "spine board" "emergency stretcher" "pole stretcher" "scoop stretcher".

it turns out, only the "spine board" works, all the other three are not.

I created them with the same step, why different results?

Regards.

Hi

"Joomla! may created several non-sef urls going to the same page", that's not true, when I was using joomla SEF, all K2 items and menus working just fine. maybe it's SH404sef creating several urls going to the same page? how can I stop it creating?
It is absolutely true. All the non-sef URLs are created by Joomla and its extensions. sh404SEF is only a translator which translates non-sef into SEF.

The various nons-sef are generated when links are created by extensions or Joomla without a correct Itemid, or with an incorrect one. Let me just take one single example from your site:

As you can see, for the /transport-stretchers page, Joomla, or most likely your menu module, is creating non-sef URLs with a dozen or more different URLs. sh404SEF consolidate that into one single SEF URL that can be seen by search engines

If we look at this example, the weirdest thing is that the current main non-sef is with Itemid 279, which simply doesn't exisit on your site. I assume this is one of the menu you deleted?
This is true for most of the URLs in the URL manager: most of them are with Itemid that do not exist.

I purged the URLs again to see if this would come back (and found that you have one custom URL, product/transport-stretchers/spine-board.html with Itemid =246, which is also a non-existing menu item. I deleted it to recreate it later with the correct Itemid if needed.

THe I went to your home page (so that URL are recreated), then visited about, products, etc
All works properly, and on he http://www.xxxx.com/transport-stretchers/ page, the sub-menu stays open as it should, etc

Hi,

thanks for your reply.

I deleted all the questionable menus today, that's why there's some un-existing urls.

now the problem is all three menus pointed to one page, actually they're pointed to their own K2 category, just like "spine board" menu.

How can I solve this issue?

regards.

Hi

What does that mean?

Which three menu? please be explicit: give me one menu (I assume you actually mean menu item) and tell me whether it should or should not link to a URL and state what that URL is.

We do not provide one on one support.

for example, menu "spine board", point to "/transport-stretchers/spine-board.html", it's right.

but,

menu "emergency stretcher", should point to "/transport-stretchers/emergency-stretcher.html", but it point to "/transport-stretchers.html"

menu "pole stretcher", should point to "/transport-stretchers/pole-stretcher.html", but it point to "/transport-stretchers.html" too.

menu "scoop stretcher", should point to "/transport-stretchers/scoop-stretcher.html", but it point to "/transport-stretchers.html" toooooo.

how can I solve this problem?

Hi

After a little research in K2, I found that the problem comes from the fact you haven't entered any alias for those categories (in K2). I entered "emergency-stretcher-weeblr" as a test in the alias input field of the Emergency stretcher K2 category, purged URLs and the the url on that menu item becomes immediately: http://www.xxxx.com/transport-stretchers/emergency-stretcher-weeblr.html

So if you fix all your aliases in K2, then purge, then go to home page to have URL recreated, you should be good.

Not sure why K2 does not auto-generate aliases when you save a category, you might want to report that.
