Hi,

I just bought the new version of sh404sef which i will be using on our new Joomla3/VM3 site.
We already use the joomla1.5 version sinds 2007, and are happy about it.
In the new version there is only the option to set the shopname voor Virtuemart, is this an error or intended to be?

HI

This is how it's supposed to be. Virtuemart went through a pahse where they were changing URLs all the time, eventually we decided to simply use their router.php file internally to build URL, to be sure at least sites would work. Unfortunately, it also means we lost some of the features, such as ability to have settings on URL.

It certainly means that it' won't be possible to keep your URLs exactly the same, compared to 2007. Though they will be similar, there might be some differences as well. If not too many, setting up redirects will do. If you want to keep them, all, then I may not have a solution for that.

Hi,

I understand, thanks for you're reply.
I still want to use sh404sef for redirecting URL's to the correct location to assure the Google rankings.
The only problem i have at this moment is that is i activate Virtuemart, then the first categorie of the product-url is removed.

Example:
URL is http;//site.com/sub1/sub/product.html when sh404sef is off
URL is http;//site.com/sub/product.html when sh404sef is off

Is that a setting with sh404sef?

Hi

Nope, we don't have any setting for VM.

Can you give me a non-sef/SEF pair showing this problem? just take one URL (that has this problem) as an example?
I would think this may happen depending on the menu structure you may have. Is the sub1 catgeory linked from a menu item?

Hi,

testingsite is under http://www.xxxx.nl/v3
There is fact is a topmenu (not complete at this moment) on every page which should have als all categories from the virtueamart-categorie-module.
I see that the categories that are under top & categorie menu don't have the sub1 in it.
The other look ok, but have /vm-search/ in the parameter... that would be killing if i migrate the site, because all URL's are then mismatched.

Hi

As per my question, can you select one URL ,and tell me the non-sef URL for that?

As for the /vm-search/, well I'd say we just entered VM/Joomla Itemid hell.
I assume VM is picking up the VM search menu item and asking sh404SEF to insert it in the URL.

NON SEf URL: index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1294&lang=nl&view=productdetails&virtuemart_category_id=174&virtuemart_product_id=664
SEF URL: http://www.hippekinderspullen.nl/v3/bomen-en-takken/muursticker-hartjesboom-met-naam.html

This one should be http://www.xxxx.nl/v3/stickers/bomen-en-takken/muursticker-hartjesboom-met-naam.html
If i turn of sh404sef then it's correct.

Can I guess that "bomen-en-takken" is the title of the menu item to that category on your top menu 'or another menu)?

bomen-en-takken is a sub-categorie of stickers.
The product in this case is muursticker-hartjesboom-met-naam.html

bomen-en-takken is a sub-categorie of stickers.
So you mean there's no direct menu to that category anywhere?

No, To all categories and sub-categories are sub-link's.
But i think i found a solution.

You mentioned menu-structure :)
I just started testing with creating the categories under the top-menu, as 'shop'.
under Shop i create the mai categorie for example 'stickers'. The i looks like the URL are correct.
