Hi

You are not getting the template error page. You're getting the template page that says that it couldn't find the error page.

The most likely reason is that you have either deleted, unpublished or just renamed:
- the "sh404SEF custom content" category
- or the "404" article

Restore those as they were, and things should start to work normally.

Hi

Could you please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterwards, but it must have superuser level.

Thanks and regards

Hi

Have not found what's causing this. It's either Flexicontent or the template. More likely to be the template but can't say for now.

I have taken a backup with Akeeba and will debug on my local machine to figure out.

Hi

So the problem comes from the FlexiSystem plugin. That plugins does some routing for Flexicontent and hacks the routing system basically.

I kept searching aroudn this problem inside the Flexicontent code, and I found that you can make fix the problem by changing an option in Flexicontent "Types" parameters for Joomla articles:

Of course, I have no idea what the consequence is on Flexicontent. The regular pages on the site seems to load normally, but there may be consequences that I haven't seen.

I suggest to talk to the FC folks to see why they are doing this, and most importantly why it breaks the display of a simple article (the sh404SEF error page is a regular article), and also check with them if there are some bad consequences to this setting switch.

Hi

Yes. sh404SEF complies with the standard Joomla API: it's an add-on, something that goes on top of the Joomla standard SEF. So ALL Joomla SEF features must be enabled and work normally for sh404SEF to operate.

Hi

Yes, like I said, you must have a fully working joomla standard SEF. Then you just switch sh404SEF on.
Everything must be working with Joomla SEF before you enable sh404SEF.
