hi,
i have a multi language website with dutch and english.
So I made 2 homepages called home-nl and home-uk.
And I made one homepage called home for language all.

What are the correct settings if I want to prevent that the homepage url is available through domain.com, domain.com/en, domain.com/home-nl and domain.com/en/home-uk

It is not possible to enter a 301 from domain.com/home-nl to domain.com is it?

All 4 urls can be accessed without being automatically forwarded to domain.com or domain.com/en.

They should not be redirected, but at the same time should not be accessible, at least with sh404SEF (Joomla would allow that).

the super administrator login is
loginname xxxx
pasword xxxx

Hi,

prevent that the homepage url is available through domain.com, domain.com/en, domain.com/home-nl and domain.com/en/home-uk

Actually if you followed the recommendations on multilingual setup from Joomla’s documentation then you don’t need to do much about it. The plugin Language filter will take care of all these.

Thanks for your reply. I checked the website again with this document
http://help.joomla.org/files/EN-GB_multilang_tutorial.pdf

I installed the multilingual status module and it shows no warning

Language Filter Plugin: Enabled
Published Language Switcher Modules. 1
Published Default Home pages (including 1 assigned to language "All"). 3

the following languages give all a green sign of OK.
en-GB
nl-NL

still when I navigate through the website and switching between languages I can see url's like http://www.xxxx.eu/en/home-uk instead of http://www.xxxx.eu/en

What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your reply.

Hi,

Everything looks good and works fine.
I did one small change: I enabled the guess Itemid on homepage, in order to eliminate the en/home/ instead of the plain /en/.
