Hi, if i upgrade to latest version it breaks the front end with this Weeblr\Wblib\V_SH4_4206\Factory;

The file breaking it is

/public_html/plugins/system/sh404sef/sh404sef.php

this is the line 13 > use Weeblr\Wblib\V_SH4_4206\Factory;

if i rename that file the website works...what should i be changing line 13 to?

you mentioned backing up the site with akeeba (we usually would) except when the site is broken there is no backend that works...so cant backup that way.

Hi

.what should i be changing line 13 to?

Nothing, the line is fine and as it should be. This error means that when the update was done, it failed and some parts of sh404SEF are missing (usually it's file permissions issue but can also just be a temporary server or server network glitch or anything really.

As a first step, I'd suggest downloading the current sh404SEF zip file from the Download area here and install that through the regular Joomla installer. That should add back the missing files.

you mentioned backing up the site with akeeba (we usually would) except when the site is broken there is no backend that works...so cant backup that way.

As you know, you normally back up before the update. If you backup after the update, as a debugging method, you can backup with the sh404SEF system plugin disabled.

we do backup prior and we are on siteground so we can restore....however i cant find a remedy other than renaming that file and then it works..and then i can update...

Hi

We have joomshaper pagebuilder and helix ultimate on all sites plus akeeba admintools and backup.

Those are pretty common extensions and many people have them together with sh404SEF, I don't see this as a problem.

I've seen this issue happening exactly twice in the last year or so. I got a backup of the site in its "broken" state and each time, a folder in /administrator/components/com_sh404sef had been removed, causing the problem. By "something" which noone could tell me what it was.

Note that the actual problem is not in the system plugin. The problem is that the code this plugin is referencing, needing, is located in a file that's missing from your server, causing the error when the system plugin tries to use it. There is no modification of the system plugin you can do to fix that problem. The problem is what's missing from sh404SEF itself.

The missing file or folder is located at:

/administrator/components/com_sh404sef/vendor/weeblr/wblib/v2/packages/factory.php

Does it exist on your server? does it have proper access permissions, ie the same as all other files in your Joomla installation?

Hi again,

By the way, do you run any form of security extension, firewal,.. either: in your site or at hosting level?

I know admin tools acts as a firewall at some point, but I've not been able to relate it to the problem.

I'm asking because I was just reading a Facebook post from someone having a fatal error just like yours (with another extension) and it was caused by RSFirewall crashing.

Best regards
