I am working with a multilingual site.  I am using  Joomla native Miltilingual .

Everything is set up to look like this

English Pages:

www.my-website.com/en/

Spanish Pages:

www.my-website.com/es/

When sh404 enabled, it is adding the word "english" to all english urls etc and the word spanish to the spansih pages.

www.my-website.com/en/english/

How do i get rid of the word english and spanish in the url ?

Hi

How do i get rid of the word english and spanish in the url ?

I suspect you have put your content into an "english" category for the english articles and a "spanish" category for the spanish articles. As you know, sh404SEF uses articles categories and articles aliases to build URLs (it does not care about menu items). So this would explain that.

You can:

- reorganize your content to drop the top level english/spanish categories and only use meaningful categories

- OR configure sh404SEF URLs for Joomla to not use the top-level category in URLs (Extensions -> Joomla in sh404SEF configuration)

It alld depends on your content structure really, how many sub-categories you may have, etc

Hi,

Thank you, yes you are certainly right, totally my miss, i will keep my category structure (english, spanish) , so probably go with (Extensions -> Joomla in sh404SEF configuration) if i am going to use sh404.

Cheers
