Hi I want to use Jsitemap proffessional and sh404SEF together.

On the developers website http://storejextensions.org I have found the document attached called sh404sef_configuration.

This manual of Jsitemaps states:
..find component named ‘Jmap’, and from the first dropdown, change the value from ‘(use default handler)’ to ‘Use Joomla router’....

Jimmie of anything digital wrote me this
I don't know what their manual says but when you'll set a component to "Use Joomla! router" in 1st dropdown box, you won't be able to use anymore sh404sef 404 page and 404 requests manager features.

May I suggest that you contact the developer of Jsitemap proffessional in order to create one clear manual with the recommended settings?

Hi

This seems to me like two independant things. I have no idea why they recommend to bypass sh404SEF for their extension, that's really up to them.

What jimie talked about is a side effect of Using the Joomla! router. If you use it, for at least one extension on your site, then we can't use the sh404SEF error page (because Joomla! router directly fires a 404 error, without giving back control to us). That's unrelated to JSitemap pro, it'd happen with any extension if you choose to "Use Joomla! router".

What I'm trying to say is: if JSitemap pro dev have found they need to "Use Joomla router" with sh404SEF, that's one thing, and possibly a requirement of their extension to operate properly. Choosing this setting have side-effect, and that's something else, something they may not be aware off, but that's independant of what they are saying in that document you attached.

As a side note, what they're mentioning in that document is, well, let's not comment on it. I exactly know what they're referring to, and this has nothing to do with Joomla! routing or sh404SEF routing. It's unfortunate professional developers (I assume this is a commercial extension?) let false rumors spread, or even in that case, create them.

Do you have some contact information for those people?

Rgds
