I have installed sh404SEF in several sites...
However, some sites its not redirecting some urls accordingly... any ideas what is the issue?
Example

https://www.xxxx.com/component/jmap/sitemap/xml?format=xml this will not redirect to https://www.xxxx.com/sitemap.xml

but

https://www.xxxx.com/component/jmap/sitemap/xml?format=xml will redirect to https://www.xxxx.com/sitemap/xml comfortably

Can you clarify why it should redirect? Did you set up a redirect for this URL (/component/jmap/sitemap/xml?format=xml) in sh404SEF?

Hi,
The correct jmap sitemap link does not open and I need it to... https://www.xxxx.com/component/jmap/sitemap/xml?format=xml
In the sites without sh404SEF, it is working okay... here is a problem, it's not opening if I say use default handler for Jmapin the configuration...
If I say use Joomla router, its working fine... but all error pages loads to the home page(meaning home page will be loaded every time 404 error page is supposed to load)

Hi

ah ok, I understand. The usual OSMAP/JSitemap issue.

So:

1 -

The correct jmap sitemap link does not open

The OSMap/JSItemap link your are using is NOT the correct one. Both JSitemap and OSMap gives you a wrong and incorrect link to use. Do not use their link.. This is a bug in both their software and their documentation and I hope one day they will fix it.

The correct link to use is:

/index.php?option=com_jmap&view=sitemap&format=xml

This link will always work and I just tested it on your site to be sure.

2 - If you want your sitemap to have a shorter link, create a custom URL for it:

- go to the SEF URL manager
- Click the "New" button in the toolabr
- Enter the following:

SEF: sitemap.xml
non-SEF: index.php?option=com_jmap&view=sitemap&format=xml

- then save

Enter SEF and non-SEF exactly as above. Do not add a / at the beginning.

3 -

Yes, this is unfortunately how the Joomla router works. You have this issue on most Joomla site (that does not use sh404SEF).
