I am sure it sounds ridiculous, but ... how can I make a SEF for the home page?

The default sef url created by the plugin is:
xxxx.com/table/home-page/

Obviously I want to convert it to :
xxxx.com

I tried entering BLANK or "/" in the "New SEF URL" field. It does not accept them.

Hi

The default sef url created by the plugin is:

xxxx.com/table/home-page/

This is not the sef url for the home page. This is the SEF URL for another page than the home page. It may be that you have a menu displayed on your site and this menu is labelled "Home" but that does not make it the home page.

So again, back to the basic:

1 - Where do you see this link?
2 - What is the non-sef URL associated with it in the sh404SEF URL manager.

Regards

Hi

I think this is the only serious issue left for me.

This is my home page:
xxxx.com/

However when I go there (through the browser) I see a totally unrelated page, actually it belongs to another hidden menu. And of course I want to fix this. I need to display the contents of this page:
xxxx.com/table/home-page/

>>>>>>
1 - Where do you see this link? ( xxxx.com/table/home-page/ )
<<<<<<
I see it when I click on the HOME menu.

>>>>>>
2 - What is the non-sef URL associated with it in the sh404SEF URL manager.
<<<<<<
According to the url record in sh404sef this is the non-sef url:
index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=264&id=22&lang=en-us&layout=purity_iii%3Afeatures-intro&view=category

I tried to fix the issue by entering NOTHING in the "new sef url", but it gives me error:
Could not save data. Error: You must provide a URL for the redirection.

Hi

I tried to fix the issue by entering NOTHING in the "new sef url", but it gives me error:

Could not save data. Error: You must provide a URL for the redirection.
You cannot fix this "problem" in sh404SEF because it has nothing to do with sh404SEF.

1- The page displayed by Joomla when going to xxxx.com/ is not decided by sh404SEF. The page displayed when going to xxxx.com/ is only decided by which menu item you have marked as Home in the Joomla menu manager. I repeat that sh404SEF has strictly no effect on that.

2 - Your "Home" menu item. Same thing. It's not because you have written "Home" on it that it is a link to the home page. Again, this has strictly nothing to do with sh404SEF. The only thing that matters is if this menu item is marked as Home in the Joomla menu manager.

My mistake. I had changed the home page as I was trying to find the hidden menu urls.

I fixed it now. Thanks
