Hello,

we installed Joomla 3 in english. After we installed German via language installer and set it as default under > Languages: Installed (Site). As content language there is only German. The plugin > System - Language Filter is enabled and the settings are:

Language Selection for new Visitors: Site Language
Automatic Language Change: No
Associations: No
Add Alternate Meta Tags: No
Remove URL Language Code: Yes
Cookie Lifetime

No when we enable sh404SEF there is the German language code in URLS but there don't should be any code because we offer German only.

That plugin should not be enabled. It's only for multilingual websites and is causing the problem you are seeing. Just disable it and purge URLs.

Hi

1 - The plugin must be disabled. This is not an sh404SEF problem, but simply how Joomla works. n your case, the problem comes from your language configuration:

- you installed the Swiss German pack, with a code of de-CH:
[xxxx]

- but you created a Content language for Germany German, with language code de-DE:
[xxxx]

This is wrong, as the language code has to be the same for both. In addition, you do not really need a "Content language" item as your site has only one language.

URLS with sh404SEF are different from those in Joomla SEF. We never use the menus to build URLs

I don't speak German, but I assume this URL is like /category-title/article-tittle. This is the default URL structure with sh404SEF. You can configure the URL structure under the Extensions -> Joomla section of sh404SEF configuration. Select a new URL structure (for instance, remove categories from the URLs), then Purge URLs to have new ones created again.
