Hi,

I have a weird problem that has recently appeared.
It started a couple of weeks ago when I noticed there were no 404 errors for a while. When I type in a URL that should trigger a 404, they divert to the home page.

I turned off the auto-redirect option, and the problem still occurs.

I disabled SH404SEF and I get the normal Joomla/Template 404 error on bad urls, SH404SEF back on and the redirect occurs ..
so is there something I can do to turn off redirection to root ?

site is: https://www.xxxx.uk

Hi

1 - What are your exact and full version of Joomla and sh404SEF?

2 - Is "301 redirect from Joomla SEF to sh404SEF" set to Yes or No? If set to Yes, disable it. This might be the Joomla router redirecting unfortunately, it does that a lot.

3 - If that does not solve the problem, please update to the latest dev version, from the development versions download area. That "301 redirect from Joomla SEF to sh404SEF" feature can be the culprit even when disabled, and we have made changes to workaround that.

I may be wrong. I think the Joomla redirect is corrupt. Message saying it cant be found ... I can fix that though.

When I clicked on the built-in Joomla redirect option, it gives a message 'can not find plugin' something about 'checking it is enabled.' I wish I took a screenshot.

Anyway. It is fixed now, both Joomla redirect is back working as is SH404SEF

oh, it's not corrupt, it's just that the corresponding is disabled. That's a good thing because the Joomla redirect component is not used at all when sh404SEF is running, so you might as well save a litle bit of CPU resource by disabling the plugin.
