 Greetings,

I have a site that will not allow any changes made in configuration on sh404SEF to save. The configuration pop up opens from the component control panel and looks normal. I change some setting in config (e.g. adding the Google Analytics code). I click "save and close." The pop up stays open and renders another copy of the main joomla control panel inside the pop up. Also, none of the configuration changes I have made are saved.

I have checked all component permissions. I ran ACL Manager (we have a lot of user groups on this site). I have tried clearing all site and browser caches. I have also run the steps above with error reporting at maximum and nothing shows up.

I am running J3.8.3 and sh404SEF 4.13.1.3756

Please advise.

Thank you.

Hi

This is likely not related to permissions. There are 2 possible options:

1 - another extension is causing a javascript error. You can probably see that by opening the javascript browser console.

2 - There is an error happening on the server, ie a PHP error.
the steps above with error reporting at maximum and nothing shows up.
As the saving is done with ajax, potential PHP errors may not show on screen. However you might be able to see them in the browser developer tools, looking at the ajax request response.

There are many things that can intercept our data saving request, some on your site (plugins), some on the server (.htaccess rules for instance). I would try to disable all security -related extensions as another step.

Rgds
