 Hi Team of Weeblr,

a happy new year to everyone.

I wan't to clean up some URLs, but the link to "SEF URLs" in the backend shows me a blank page.
Even the configuration for slow servers shows the same result.

Can you please advise? Thank you.

Bye
Andreas

Hi

1 - Please provide exact and full versions of: joomla, sh404SEF and PHP

2 - How did this start to happen?

3 - A blank page usually indicates a PHP error is happening on your server. Go to Joomla configuration and set "Error display" to "Maximum", then go back to the SEF URL page. This may give you a proper error message. If not, you may have to check the PHP error log on your server to find out about the real error happening.

Thank you.
Here is the requested information:

1.
Joomla: 3.8.3
PHP: 7.0.26
sh404SEF: 4.13.1.3756

2.
I entered a wrong title for an article, so I tried to corrrect the URL, but found a blank page

3.
I set it to Maximum, but the blank page without any HTML-output.
I searched the error_log but didn't find any error regarding sh404 or the backend of Joomla.
Maybe it is relevant that the database table sh404sef_urls does have 266915 entries. The PHP memory_limit is set to 48M.

Kind reagards

No, I meant: was it working before? when was the last time you went to the URL manager? any upgrade since then?

No, it's not really relevant, unless your MYSQL server cannot cope with this. We might test that:

1 - Go to sh404SEF home page, and open the sh404SEF configuration
2 - Under the "Advanced" tab, set "Slow server" to "Yes".
3 - Try again to access the URL manager.

Really don't know. I've upgraded to Joomla 3.7 in March/April 2017 and there it worked fine.
There is no need to look into it cause it works fine so far on the frontend site.
I'm updating every core/component regulary.

I tried it before and now with the developer version, but the same blank page appears.

Hi

Again, a fully white page means an error is happening on the server, and if this happens only on this particular page (ie the URL manager), then it has to be linked somehow to the MYSQL server.

Could you please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterward, but it must have superuser level.

Thanks and regards

Hi

I logged in into your site admin and can only make the following comments:

1 - It is indeed a PHP or MYSQL error, and it's probably linked to capacity: the only 2 pages that die this way are the SEF URLs and Title and metas one - those are the 2 pages that handle the full list of URLs.
Either you get a PHP max execution time error, or it's the MYSQL server that refuses to process this.

Note however that the page dies after a fairly short time, 7 to 8 seconds in my testing. That's rally unusual: when a server or PHP times out, it's usually at least after 30 seconds.

2 - Also I noted that you had set PHP error reporting to "None" in Joomla configuration. This will prevent any PHP error to be logged by the server. A usually better value is "System default". It prevents errors to be displayed on screen but still allows them to be logged on a file on the server.

I have set that to "System default", meaning that you may now have some error messages logged, at least for PHP.

3 - Considering the above, I would suggest:

- looking again at the PHP and Mysql server log
- checking the PHP max execution time value and MYSQL corresponding setting and see if they are set to too low a value.
- talking to the hosting company to identify the error: surely they must have logs.
