Something happened with our site that our HikaShop User Control Panel link broke. I know the issue is related to sh404 as everything works if I turn it off. I could not find a short url, alias or anything related to the link it is trying to go to "/my-account/user/cpanel" so I purged urls thinking it would remove all the urls and then it would not try to find that url. That did not work.

It does now go to the control panel at "/user-control-panel/user/cpanel", but it shows the blue box at the bottom of the page with: The page you requested (/my-account/user/cpanel) does not exist on our site, so we sent you to this one instead, which we found similar. We hope to have guessed right, please... Which leads me to believe it is still trying to find the "my-account/user/cpanel" link. I've changed the menu item and then changed it back and it still does this.

Your help to resolve this so it does not show the blue box and goes to the control panel would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

so I purged urls thinking it would remove all the urls and then it would not try to find that url. That did not work.
Bad idea, absolutely never ever do this on a production site. You are causing 404s to many visitors until the URLs are rebuilt, which might take time. Talk to us first, always.

Yes, it means you have enabled "Try to auto-redirect 404 errors". That page is not found (maybe because you purged URLs?) and if you try to load it, you get a 404. Then sh404SEF tries to find a URL similar to it, and this is /user-control-panel/user/cpanel, which is the correct URL for the contrl panel, as far as I can tell.

I've changed the menu item and then changed it back and it still does this.
What does that mean? what did you change? you created a new menu item linking to the control panel?

Yeah.. I guess I figured out that purging the urls was a bad idea.

Is there a way to rebuild the urls? I've tried a couple of broken link identifiers, but they all fail to work now. I'm not sure if that is because the site is https or the fact that the domain redirects to a subdirectory (although I believe it worked in the past with the subdirectory without issue).

I'm sure the menu item is because it's still finding remnants that are attempting to point it to /my-account/user/cpanel, although I cannot find that SEF URL anywhere in the sh404 component. That was my frustration earlier that caused me to purge the SEF Urls - I couldn't find the bad one that was causing /my-account/user/cpanel to not be find and then go to a forum profile instead.

Thus, we could not log into the site unless I totally shut off sh404.

Hi

I think the problem is that you expect URLs to be different from what they are with sh404SEF. For instance, again, the URL for the control panel seems to be: /user-control-panel/user/cpanel and NOT /my-account/user/cpanel.

I'm sure the menu item is because it's still finding remnants that are attempting to point it to
No idea what that means, sorry. Do you mean that there are still links like that in your page? If yes, then this IS the problem. You may have hardcoded your links in your template or modules, and that cannot work.

I couldn't find the bad one that was causing /my-account/user/cpanel
The problem is trying to access this URL. This does not appear to be the correct URL and that is the problem.

What database are the SEF Urls stored in? Perhaps I can have it restored by our web host.

Hi

What database are the SEF Urls stored in? Perhaps I can have it restored by our web host.

Not sure what this has to do with the problem?

I think I do not understand the problem right now. Please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterward, but it must have superuser level.

Thanks and regards

I was able to resolve my issue by restoring the sh404sef_urls table of my joomla database.

Hi

Glad to hear that, but there's still something problematic here. It means there was a change in URLs, some either some settings were changed in sh404SEF configuration for Hikashop, or something else changed.

Hi

I will leave this ticket open in case you need to add something. It will automatically close in 2 weeks if no further comment is made.

Best regards
