Hi,

I have a phoca gallery installed on a site. I've just upgraded to latest SH404SEF but it is doping something weird with the galleries, it is adding and id=xx on the end of the SEF URL but only opening the same gallery every time?

I've changed to Joomla Router and this fixes it, is this an issue with Phoca Gallery or SH404SEF?

Cheers,

Dave

Hi

Updated from which version exactly?

but it is doping something weird with the galleries, it is adding and id=xx on the end of the SEF URL but only opening the same gallery every time?

We do not have any specific support for PhocaGallery, so URLs for it are built only using PhocaGallery router.php file. They might have changed something in it, can't tell but it does sound like they changed their internal URL structure indeed.

I've changed to Joomla Router and this fixes it
What setting did you have before that? "Using Joomla router" means sh404SEF is entirely disabled for PhocaGallery.

Please provide full and real URL for just 2 different URLs that open the same gallery. Then please search the URL manager for those SEF URL and tell use what the recorded non-sef URL is for each. That might give a clue as to what changed happened.

Hi I was on the previous latest so 4.11.x now on 4.12.x

It was set to use SH404SEF router before.

I've purged the old URLs as I thought they might have changed things.

Currently with Jooml Router I see these pages

https://www.xxxx.uk/category/18-bassenfell-2013.html
index.php?option=com_phocagallery&Itemid=1055&id=18&lang=en&view=category

https://www.xxxx.uk/category/17-passion-for-northumberland.html
index.php?option=com_phocagallery&Itemid=1055&id=17&lang=en&view=category

If I go back to SH404SEF router I see these pages

https://www.xxxx.uk/Gallery/Bassenfell-Autumn-Break-2013.html?id=18
index.php?option=com_phocagallery&Itemid=1055&lang=en&view=category

https://www.xxxx.uk/Gallery/Bassenfell-Autumn-Break-2013.html?id=17
index.php?option=com_phocagallery&Itemid=1055&catid=17&lang=en&tmpl=component&view=detail

Weirdly gallery 17 under the SH404 router has a URL referencing the name of the first gallery with a different id number on the end??

Hi

index.php?option=com_phocagallery&Itemid=1055&id=18&lang=en&view=category

index.php?option=com_phocagallery&Itemid=1055&id=17&lang=en&view=category
What do you mean? if you use Joomla router, you don't have any record in the URL manager, and you cannot tell what the non-sef URLs are?

Hi

https://www.xxxx.uk/Gallery/Bassenfell-Autumn-Break-2013.html?id=17

index.php?option=com_phocagallery&Itemid=1055&catid=17&lang=en&tmpl=component&view=detail
This does not make any sense, it's an entirely different URL, a "detail" view, not a category one.

Starting to think that Phoca might come with an sh404SEF plugin, or you might have installed one?

Hmm, no I didn't say there was no URLs showing??

I haven't installed any specific sh404/Phoca plugin - I'll go and check but I've just installed both components and it used to work.

Hi

Hmm, no I didn't say there was no URLs showing??
If you have URL showing, then you are not "Use Joomla router" for Phoca Gallery. "Use Joomla router" means that no URLs is recorded, and that sh404SEF is entirely disabled for this component.

If you have those URL in the database, then:

- either you don't "Use Joomla router". Maybe you have set Phoca to "Use Joomla router.php" file instead, which is an entirely different option
- you did select "Use Joomla router", and so those URLs are left over from when the site ran with the previous setting, are not use anymore and have no value now.

So again: how do you know that "index.php?option=com_phocagallery&Itemid=1055&id=18&lang=en&view=category" is the non-sef URL associated with "/category/18-bassenfell-2013.html"?

Not on their site. On your site. In the sef_ext directory of /components/com_phocagallery, or in the /plugins/sh404sefextplugins directory

Ok - so here are screenshots, I don;t get it either but with Phoca gallery set to Joomla Router - I've purged URLs with 'gallery' in their text.

Reloaded the front page

Gone to SEF URLS and see a load of entries? Clear as day!

Is this an issue in 4.12?

HI

I've purged URLs with 'gallery' in their text.
So you have not purged URLs. The words matter here. You only deleted those URLs with gallery, you have not used the "Purge" button.

Is this an issue in 4.12?
No, we have no issue of such sort, and there is not sign of any issue (in sh404SEF) in this conversation so far.

Could you please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterward, but it must have superuser level. I just think we don't understand each other here. If possibe, I'd like to have FTP access, so as to be able to really check whether an sh404SEF exists or not.

Thanks and regards

I meant to download or install from their site!

If you meant as part of their main component package then I'll check those locations now...
... nope don't see any phoca sef extension folders in either of those two locations?

In terms of attachments I had to change to lower case extensions - that is fine

ok, good to know. This is done by Akeeba subscription, our ticket system, I'll see if it can be configured to accept both.

Sorry - indeed I should have been clearer - I haven't purged all URLs (that wouldn't be good for lots of reasons). I have 'deleted + Duplicates' on all URLs that were related to the galleries.

sftp is

ftp.xxxx

Hi

As I hinted before, you have NOT set PhocaGallery to "Use Joomla router". You have only asked sh404SEF to use it's router.php file.

Then i went to visit the Galleyr, and I don't see any URL with ?id=xxx. All seems to be working all right.

So I switched to using the sh404SEF default plugin, and I started to see the ?id=xxx URLs.

I then connected with FTP, and sure enough, you are using a custom build PhocaGallery plugin for sh404SEF. It was added to the /components/sh404SEF/sef_ext directory, ie the main sh404SEF folder, which is pretty dangerous as it could be wiped out by an update in the future.

That plugin is by a guy named:

*
* Author : Hi-Fi (Juho Saarinen)
* contact : [email protected]
*

I think what happened is that Phoca made some changes to their URLs, and of course the plugin should be adjusted for that.

My sincere apologies.

I either must have added that years ago or the Phoca developer did when trying to sort an issue, I really didn't know/remember that was even there.

Thank you very much for your time and I'm sorry as I should have tracked that down myself.

Cheers,

Dave

Hi

Well yes, it seems to date back a very, very long time. You will need to have that plugin fixed, maybe the Phoca Gallery folks know about that developer.
