 Hi,

I am upgrading my Joomla 1.5.26 website to Joomla 2.5.28, I am using SH404SEF 1.0.16_Beta - build_222 in Joomla 1.5 which i want to upgrade or transfer its content to SH404SEF 4.7 Joomla 2.5. Kindly help or provide some guide how can i do that, I searched over for it but did not found any guidance on it.

Hi

There is no guidance per se and no upgrade path from such an ancient version. The non-sef URLs (index.php?option=com...) in Joomla 1.5 are entirely different from those in 1.6 and more recent, and no transfer of any kind can be envisioned.

The best way to handle this is simply to install the current version on the new site. If you keep the same structure for your categories and articles, URLs should be basically the same. If they are different, you will then need to manually customize those URLs (as described on this page of documentation) so that they are the same. An alternative would be to setup redirects. It depends on how many URLs there are to modify, and how different they are.

Hope this helps.

Rgds
