 Greetings,

What am I to do with these external errors? This list grows daily and it is now up to 366: See screenshot. Looking at the list, they are links, some from over a year or so ago. These "pages" have long been deleted from the site. Why do they keep coming back. I have purged the 404's twice now. Additionally the sitemap is current, and does not reflect any of these urls sh404 is finding.

Hi

External 404s are just that, external. If I now type in my browser yoursite.com/hello-from-weeblr, then you will find a new 404 called /hello-from-weeblr in the list.
They are unrelated to sh404SEF, except we record them and show them to you to decide what you want to do with them.

These "pages" have long been deleted from the site. Why do they keep coming back.
Because somebody is requesting them. See my example above.

does not reflect any of these urls sh404 is finding.
We are not finding them. Somebody (a human, a search engine) has recorded those URLs, and click on the link or keep checking them.
For instance, Google will check back regularly for at least a year on a 404, to be sure it was not a mistake on your site, and the page is really gone.
