Hello,

How can I make sure sh404SEF does not create a sef link for the joomla login module? I have user registration turned off (see attached screenshot) and the joomla login module has been unpublished and removed from the module manager. However sh404SEF still creates a sef link as follows:

SEF URL: log-in/ Non-SEF url index.php?option=com_users&lang=en&view=login (see attached screenshot)

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Sima

Hi

sh404SEF does not create links, never. It only turns non-sef links created by Joomla or extensions on your site into SEF ones.

So if you have such a link in the URL manager, it means at some point Joomla asked sh404SEF to create that link. Note it doesn't mean the link was displayed on a page. Only that while processing the page request and building up the response, Joomla computed that link.

Additional notes:

1 - This is a link to the login page. It's unrelated to registration. Likewise, the link is for the login page, it has nothing to do with the login module.
2 - You don't need to have a link created or displayed for it to work. You can go to any Joomla site and type directly www.example.com/index.php?option=com_users&lang=en&view=login and view the login page. I don't think this can be disabled. Now if you disabled registration on your site, people are not allowed to register, but this has nothing to do with displaying the login module or the login page.

3 - whether you have sh404SEF on your site does not change the process described above; in other words, Joomla would always create/compute that link. Simply, with sh404SEF, links are stored in a database, and displayed in a list, so you can see them. But the links would be the same even if you don't see them.

Rgds
