Hi,

After installing sh404SEF and waiting some time my webpage with FaLang installed (http://xxxx.ch) stops working. Happily after uninstalling sh404SEF the page works again.
What can I do to prevent thins behavior?

Regards,

Andreas Fedele

Hi

Falang is not supported by sh404SEF, as listed in the requirements.

This is not something that can be fixed in sh404SEF. The Falang developers made some changes to their extension, and the latest Falang version is supposed to be working OK. Are you using the latest Falang version?

Hi,

I've currently version 2.6.0 of FaLang installed, which seems to be the current Version of the component.
Do you have any more suggestions?

Regards,

Andreas Fedele

Hi

I had actually not looked at the site, but I went there, and there is something I don't understand.

Currently, your site is not SEF. You are only using non-sef URLs. So I wonder what you actually mean by "stops working".

What happens? have you made the site work first with SEF URL, without sh404SEF? do you get 404 errors?

Hi,

I've installed the sh404SEF module again. Please have a look how the page looks now.

Hi

Yes, that's what I suspected, you have not setup your server for URL rewriting.

Your issue is not related to sh404SEF. It's coming from your server, which is not setup properly.

I would suggest you do the following:

1 - Disable sh404SEF URL optimization, or uninstall it entirely

2 - Go to Joomla configuration, and set settings as follow:

You will probably get the same error. Then setup your server properly, adding a .htaccess file for instance.

Once your site is working with Joomla SEF URL, you can install again sh404SEF as has the same requirements as Joomla. So if Joomla SEF works, sh404SEF will also work.

You can find Joomla documentation on the topicon this page.

Hi,

I've another page (www.xxxx.ch) on the same server where I could install your component without any problems.
But thanks for your suggestions I will try the way described in your last message.

That's the not the problem, the URL rewriting configuration is done per web site. My best guess is that you have not yet set up your .htaccess file.
