I was having a problem with 2 of my forms after installing your 404SEF product a quote form and an upload form.

You folks logged in and did something that corrected the problem with both forms Tuesday.

I was off yesterday, but I got mail saying my upload form had stopped working again, and when I got in this morning it is indeed not working.

I don't really know what you did to get the forms working, can you explain to me and / or check to see if the corrective actions are still in place.

I have re-activated the superuser account you used Tuesday.

Thank You

P.S. for some reason my pharmaceutical page says equipment on it. I can not for the life of me see where this is coming from or how to fix it, but I believe it changed when I turned on the SEF...

Hi

The Request a quote form works fine for me right now. Please double-check.

You are correct, if you read my message above I say as much. There were 2 forms not working a request a quote form and a upload form. You fixed both, the quote form is still fixed but the upload form is back to not working...

Ah OK,

Indeed I never tested that form (even during previous ticket). Did you know for a fact it went back to working after last ticket?

I'm looking into it now, but if the changes I made (see below) were not reverted, otherwise the Request a quote form would have broken as well.

As I found that using Joomla router make BF work, I set it to "Use Joomla router" under "By components" tab of sh404SEF configuration, and that seems to make it happy.

Ah I see. There is an error in the "moxie.js" file, which looks like it's is the uploader. It is using a relative URL:
[xxxx]

That's not an sh404SEF issue (and yes, it may appear only when sh404SEF is enabled, because for SEO reasons, sh404SEF doesn't accept pages that should be 404 as valid, as Joomla does), but I will look into it and see if there's something I can do in BF settings or otherwise.

Hi

Actually, I went back and check, and the sh404SEF I had set the other was reverted! Not sure how that could have happened really.
This is how it should be:

Both forms are back to normal now. Any idea?

Thats really strange, there was an update to the breezingforms software I installed, in the interim, perhaps that somehow reset it. Now I know where to check if it stops working again.

Thanks very much.

P.S. Any idea why my pharmaceutical page is showing as http://www.xxxx.com/product-catagory/equipment ?

Hi

Updating BF should not anything to sh404SEF config, which is stored in the joomla database, just like any other extension.

P.S. Any idea why my pharmaceutical page is showing as http://www.xxxx.com/product-catagory/equipment ?

No. I deleted all those "product-catagory/equipment" URLs, reloaded the page and they came back (almost) normal, as /en/product-catagory/pharmaceutical-labels

The "en" should not be there, so I looked a bit more, and it seems there's a language misconfiguration on your site:

- you have 2 languages installed: en-GB and en-US. You have en-US as the default (here)
- but on Content language, you have GB English listed, instead of US English.

I then purged sh404SEF URLs, so that new URLs are rebuilt with correct language information. After purging Joomla cache, the URL is now correct at /product-catagory/pharmaceutical-labels

One last thing: you have a typo in your most used category: it's called catagory instead of category. If you site is not too well indexed yet, you might want to change that to the right spelling, and probably even shorten the category alias to simply "products" for instance?

If you do that, you will need to "Purge" sh404SEF URLs, so that new URLs are rebuilt with the new wording. Don't do that if your site has been indexed for a while, at least without putting some 301 redirect in place in your .htaccess

The upload form worked for a few days and then when I came in this morning it was not working again. I checked and the BreezingForms component was set to (use default handler) not to Use Joomla Router.

I switched it back to use the Joomla router and it started working again.

Any Idea how this keeps resetting?

Hi

Any Idea how this keeps resetting?

No, and that's unheard of. Those settings are stored in the database, along with all other data we use. They are altered only when one comes to sh404SEF control panel, open the Configuration and Save. There is no "write" access to it in the frontend normal operation.

The only case I have seen something similar (not the same, but similar) was when one hosting company did a restore of server (without telling the customer) and they restored an older version of the site database.

Have you checked on your latest content for instance, are all the latest changes you made (in other parts of the site) still there?

Another thing to look at maybe is to check on the database, using phpmyadmin or similar tools. Run an "Repair/Optimize" operation to see if any damaged tables is found. The sh404SEF settings are stored in Joomla xxxx_extensions table.
