#2490 – Non SEF URLs longer than 255 char don't work

So I have a non SEF URL long like this:

"index.php?option=com_osproperty&Itemid=313&ad-comune=Teramo&ad-medic=&ad-specializzazione=Psicologia&agent_id=0&amenities=false&city=0&exams=false&filterBySSN=&isfeatured=0&keyword=&lang=it&only_foregin_countries=&region=&specializzazioni_ids=false&state_"

as you can see there should be few more chars at the end that sh404SEF component doesn't save, because of the fields in the table "sh404sef_urls" having max length of 255.

In the link above it is not a big problem, I will just get rid off empty fields...

I suppose I can't get much help on this, but shouldn't it be a little more than 255?

Hi

Yes, for performance and storage reasons, URLs have always been limited to 255 chars. It's more than extremely rare that this has been an issue in the last 10 years, while changing this might cause problems when updating sites with fairly large databases, so we have refrained from increasing it. If possible, I'd advise trying to get rid of extra fields.
