We just want to turn on the cache because the site is faster..

Is there an option not to cache to disk, but use ‘shared memory’? Would that make changes? What are the pro / con's in that?

Hi

You certainly can use "Shared memory", if you have a memcached server installed on your server, or available otherwise. There is no con's, it's faster and more reliable than disk cache, but you have to have the required memcached server setup.
