Is there a way to populate the "titles and meta" section with the existing meta from the articles?

Hi
You don't have to. I no meta/title is set with sh404SEF, then the ones in Joomla articles will be used normally.
However, it's more convenient to use either one or the other method to populate them.

Yes I know. But inside the sh404sef extension, it is very easy and convenient to get an overview of all the meta stuff and edit it, see problems with duplicate or similar page titles etc.
That is why I want to "import" the meta from the original Joomla setup, but how do I do that without manually copying the Joomla meta into the boxes of sh404SEF?

Hi
You cannot do that, because the 2 systems operate differently: sh404SEF attach meta to a URL (as it should) while Joomla attach them to items (articles, menu items, etc); So for a given page (as defined by its URL), it's pretty hard to figure out what's the correct meta to use.
For instance, in Joomla, a given article may have different title/meta depending on which menu item is used to display it.
So I never went through "importing" into sh404SEF those various menu/articles/categories titles/meta.

I see. Not a big problem.
