 Hi there,

Using your sh404sef with k2 items and it appears the twitter card image meta is missing which results in my twitter cards having a blank placeholder in place of where the image should be.

All the other twitter meta tags appear to be present bar the twitter image meta.

Also, I created a couple of test joomla articles (without k2) and all the twitter meta, including the image meta was there resulting in a fully functioning twitter card.

Is there a way to include the twitter image card meta in K2 items via modifying the component or will there be an update coming to address this issue?

Thank you,
John

Hi

The image tag can only be created if you specify one for a particular URL. Did you do that, and is the actual problem you set up a tag and it's not showing? or you didn't setup a tag?

Hi and thanks for the quick reply.

Not specifying a URL just using the twitter card options within SH404SEF configuration.

Are you saying I have to create an image tag individually for each K2 item even though the image tag appears automatically for joomla articles?

Thanks,
John

Just an observation.

Looks like the component SocialConnect by joomlaworks is adding the twitter image meta to the joomla articles not SH404SEF.

I will contact them and ask why the image meta is not included for K2 items but it would be fantastic if SH404SEF did this automatically.

This is the twitter card meta visible when the option is turned on in SH404SEF, as you can see it does not include the (twitter:image) meta.

<meta name="twitter:card" content="summary"/>
<meta name="twitter:site" content="@xxxx"/>
<meta name="twitter:creator" content="@xxxx"/>
<meta name="twitter:title" content="Chronic fatigue treatments bring long-term benefits, study shows - xxxx.com"/>
<meta name="twitter:description" content="Quick Add Link on Keyword Keyword Phrase: Website to link to. Start with http://: Scope: Article-wide First Occurrence Site-wide Site-wide First Occur..."/>
<meta name="twitter:url" content="https://www.xxxx.com/201511024473/about/alternative-medicnie/4473-chronic-fatigue-treatments-bring-long-term-benefits-study-shows"/>

Appreciate any suggestions.

Hi

We may be able to do this (most of the times) with Joomla articles because they are standard items, and we know where to look for (which fields in the database if you will) to find an image. We cannot do that for each and every Joomla extensions, so we stick to the standard.
Even with that, I recommend the image to be set manually per URL, as the automatic detection is just a "guess", and will fail sometimes depending on what your article is like (when you have 2 images in the item, which one do you use?).
