I have just purchased the sh404sef component, installed it and started to setup according your manual but unfortunately got the problem with URLs for K2 items.
As an example, the component sh404sef created a link like http://xxxx.ru/bands/antillia&tmpl=component which is not working (404 redirect). If I remove manually the ending &tmpl=component and run only http://xxxx.ru/bands/antillia then it displays the page correctly. What settings I need to change in sh404sef component to display my K2 items correctly?

Joomla, as well as K2 and sh404sef were updated on 03.01.2016, should be the last versions.
Sh404sef is temporally disabled on the site. I can activate it to demonstrate the error if its required.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi

As stated on the pre-sale forum:

- this is an invalid URL (it should have a ? instead of a & before the tmpl=component part).

What settings I need to change in sh404sef component to display my K2 items correctly?
There's no evidence the problem is within sh404SEF. This is why I asked for a page where I can see the problem.

Joomla, as well as K2 and sh404sef were updated on 03.01.2016, should be the last versions.
Next time (and for other Joomla extensions providers), please provide full versions as requested). Knowing the date of update is totally useless. Right now, I will check myself when I have credentials.

Could you please provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterwards, but it must have superuser level.

Thanks and regards

Thank you for a fast reply. You can enter the website here http://xxxx.ru/administrator/
login: xxxx
password: xxxx
The admin panel is in English.

sh404sef is currently turned off. If you make any changes in website settings please inform me afterwards. Additionally I send yo2 pictures showing where the error appears after turning on the sh404sef component. Please let me know when you do not need access to my website anymore.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi

Thanks, I have seen the problem; it doesn't appear related to sh404SEF.

Taking as an example the "Antilla" group, with sh404SEF disabled, the link on the image is:
/bands/109-antillia&tmpl=component

So you basically have the same problem. You do no get a 404 with Joomla because the Joomla router very incorrectly fails to trigger a 404 in such case. That's a very bad SEO behavior, one that Joomla will probably not fix in the current 3.x branch unfortunately.

Note that situation (ie sh404SEF disabled), the link is NOT really working either, because it should open in a popup (that's what the ?tmpl=component" is for), but because of ? being replaced with &, it opens in a regular window.

I am not sure how this link is created, not familiar enough with K2 with respect to that, but if you find where the link is created, you can fix the link and replace the & with a ?.

Maybe you have a template override for instance? or maybe it's downright a K2 issue?

I have found where this kink of links is created. Surprisingly it turned out that title link was working correctly but only picture link was with additive &tmpl=component . I just made for picture the same code as for title link and it seems working.

But I have got some additional question. Is it possible to set directly H1....H6 headings for each link with sh404sef? I could not find any information regarding headings and sh404sef.

Thank you in advance.

Yes, that's what I was talking about.

Not sure I fully understand what you want to do, but sh404SEF does not create hx tags automatically for links.
