The Page titles and Description tags i write in sh404SEF: Title and metas manager are not copyed or inserted in the relevant Joomla boxes. Is that how it should work.

Hi

Yes, absolutely. The Title and meta manager let's you override meta data per URL, not by article or menu item. Joomla uses article or menu items to attach meta data, which means there can be multiple URLs with same meta data - which we want to avoid.
