Hello Guys,
The last week I had a problem in my site, the URLs were deleted, I had around 70.000 URLs (I looked into my backup): http://www.screencast.com/t/xxxx, and after the issue I got just 7000: http://www.screencast.com/t/xxxx

I asked to my developers if they deleted or Purged the URLs, and they told me No.

Why it happened? I am trying to find an explanation. Maybe an error in the site? I want to avoid it happen again.

Thanks.

Hi

1 -Do you actually had a problem? ie are you having a lot of 404s or anything like this?
2 - What happened just before you noticed that? you updated to latest version of sh404SEF? anything else?

3 - In version 4.7.1, we had some code that would remove some useless records created by a bug in 4.7.0, but that has to do with 404s URLs. It may be the source, but I doubt it because it would have happened immediately after installing 4.7.1

Since when did you have 70000+ links? for a long time?

Hello,

1. I had 404s URLs, for example the URLs generated by Kunena in the email notifications, some custom URLs, and my traffic was reduced to 50%

2. Once I noticed that, I exported the URLs using the export function in the component, using a backup of my site, but due to the large number of URLs the importing process gave me errors related with duplicated URLs, so I just imported the "Only the requested URLs", a total of 9.000 URLs were imported, and the site is working now normal, and the traffic is restoring and the total URLs after 6 days is 11.000

3. And Yes, we recently updated the sh404sef to the last version 4.7.1.3144, maybe 1 week before the problem occurs.

I don't know when we had 70.000 links, I never looked this info, just when the problem happened.

Hi

some custom URLs,
There is nothing in sh404SEF that can delete a bunch of custom URLs. The only code that exists in it to delete custom URLs is when you manually select them one by one and press the Delete button.

Likewise for Kunena or valid URLs. The "cleaning" code I mentioned earlier was for 404 records, not for valid URLs.

Finally, 1 week is way too long. Any problem related to code would have happen nearly immediately, at most in the next hours.

My best guess given the symptoms you list is a database failure: MYSQL crashing, db tables having been repaired or restored only partially after this failure.
