 Hi,

When creating a sub-menu item for any of our main menu items the resulting SEF URL for the page is: www.website-name.com/menu-item-alias/sub-menu-item-alias/article-title-alias

We'd like sh404SEF to avoid any sub menu reference in the URL sub menu, so the URL looks like this:

www.website-name.com/menu-item-alias/article-title-alias

How could we do this?

Thanks in advance,

Tomas

Hi

sh404SEF never uses menus or submenus to build URLs. We only use items categories and title/alias to do that. So:
/menu-item-alias/sub-menu-item-alias/article-title-alias
this should not happen. These are Joomla SEF URLs, not sh404SEF (unless it just happens that you named your menu items the same way you named your categories)
/menu-item-alias/article-title-alias
this is not possible with sh404SEF. You will get instead
/item-category-alias/article-title-alias

Please note in addition that:

1 - you have params sh404SEF "Extensions" tab of configuration to decide which categories/aliase to use (make sure to purge urls after changing any of those, so that new URLs are created)

2 -
this is not possible with sh404SEF.
is not entirely true: you can always manually customize any URL on your site, through the URL manager (see documentation)
