 I installed sh404SEF in my Joomla site and it worked fine. Due to another issue, I had to restore from an Akeeba backup a version before I installed sh404SEF. After installing, my back end is now blank. The front end is working, but when I go to the back end, the entirety of code for the administrator is:

<html>
<head></head>
<body></body>
</html>

Hi

I would suggest setting Joomla error reporting setting to "maximum" and see if any error comes up.
What exact versions of Joomla and sh404SEF are you running?

I did, this is what I got:

Fatal error: Class 'ShlSystem_factory' not found in /home1/alphaop9/public_html/a-working/tmp/install_564f505cefa8c/installation.script.php on line 2082.

I am trying to install "com_sh404sef_4.7.0.3065_full"

Version is Joomla 3.4.5

Hi

I suggest you simply install again the current version. If I understand well, you have restored an older version, and some parts of sh404SE are missing.

I don't understand. I am using the current Joomla stable release, and the sh404SEF module I downloaded from your site this morning. I don't understand how I could not "be using the current version."

I have attempted to make this work with the file I downloaded from you five days ago, as well as the one I downloaded this morning. They are the same version and I have the same end result. This was working on my site two days ago, then it just crashed.

My install works fine, all the way up until I install your module.

Hi
I wrote: "...install again..."
Such problems are the sign of an incomplete installation usually. Either a corrupted download from our site, or a corrupted upload to yours. Sh404SEF is made of a component and multiple plugins, all of them need to install right.
So installing again over the current setup is usually a good idea.
Next would be to actually uninstall sh404Sef, and install back. Uninstalling may remove partials uploads for instance.
Also I suggest you keep joomla error reporting setting to maximum, in case some PHP error comes up while installing/uninstalling.

I finally figured out what was going on and corrected it.

The base of the problem was the .HTACCESS file. I had built it up with a lot of functions and somehow it was reset to one line, thus RewriteEngine was set to Off, which means that sh404SEF would not work. Once I restored the enhanced .HTACCESS file, it started working.

In the future, if someone gets a WSOD, have them verify their .HTACCESS, configuration.php and php.ini files first.

Thanks. :-)
