 Hi,

I've installed 404sef on a site (www.xxxx.it), but it seems that 404 requests aren't registered, even if I force a 404 request using a broken url sending me to 404 custom page.

Thank you in advance

Hi

Indeed, if I request, for instance, http://www.xxxx.it/some-error, the page I see is not sh404SEF error page, and so the error cannot be recorded.

The error I see is coming from Joomla, which says "Category not found"

I can see that you're using an outdated version of sh404SEF, so the first thing to do is update to the current version. I don't even know if this is possible in the version you're using.

Please download the current dev version [...], that's the most up to date.

Then we can review your settings if needed.

Hi,

I've just updated 404sef and switched from "Joomla error page" to "Override Joomla error page".
Using Google webmaster tools I can see a broken url : http://www.xxxx.it/index.php/contatti-utili.

Still I can see nothing in 404 requests page

Hi

If I test one URl, for instance:http://www.xxxx.it/la-scuola/storia-e-va
I can see the sh404SEF error page, except that for some reason you choose to display it without the rest of your site, which is not a very good idea from where I stand.

[...]

Now if I test this URL, ttp://www.xxxx.it/index.php/contatti-utili, I am first redirected to ttp://www.xxxx.it/contatti-utili, then I see the sh404SEF error page (but still without the rest of the site):[...]

You can also see a suggested link. If this shows, I assume the 404 should be correctly recorded in the 404 manager (under contatti-utili).

Is it not?

(unless you disabled "Log 404 errors" under the "Advanced" tab of configuration of course)

HI,

thank you! Someone in staff disabled 404 logs, now 404 error manager works.

I even switched back to Joomla! 404 error page.

Thanks again
