Hello,

I've noticed that google has indexed some 404 pages from sh404sef, the pages itself don't exist and shouldn't be indexed.

Their URL's are:

https://www.xxxx.net/sh404sef-custom-content/404
https://www.xxxx.net/nl/sh404sef-custom-content/404-2
https://www.xxxx.net/fr/sh404sef-custom-content/404-3

Can I remove these pages, or prevent Google from indexing them?

Hi

Those looks like the error page joomla content article, and probably some copies that you made (404-2, 404-3). They are normally not indexed when displayed as 404, but maybe Google found a way to them (sometimes it's the breadcrumb for instance) or a category blog.

We don't use this mechanism any longer (ie there's no more a category and an article). As you can see, all those pages returns a 404, so Google will deindex them.
I would simply suggest that you delete them from the URL manager, that way they won't show up as suggestions in the 404 error pages.
