 Hello support

I am trying to manage certain unwanted urls to avoid duplicated content. I have use 'shURL blacklist' function to block certain variables such as 'manufacturer' or 'page-' without any effect. My questions:
1/ is the 'shURL blacklist' only effective when 'Enable shURL' is on? (I have it off currently!)
2/ I have a few pages that have multiple URLs generated with variable such as 'manufacturer' and 'page-'. I have compared these page setting with others that have no such issue and there were no difference. I have deleted these urls many times and cleared cache & they will just come back again.

I would much appreciate your support on how to manage these.

On a separate issue, I have been advised though previous support ticket to have the Joomla shURL on. How about Virtuemart, should it be on or off?

regards

En Jie

Hi

1 - Don't understand what shURLs have to do with duplicated URL? shURL are just short version of the full SEF URLs, they trigger a 301 to the full URL when requested. Nothing to do with duplicate content.

sh404SEF never, ever create any URLs. It receives non-sef URLs created by Joomla and extensions, turns them to SEF and send them back for display or any other usage by Joomla or extensions.
I have compared these page setting with others that have no such issue and there were no difference
There is no issue, as long as the SEF is the same.
I have deleted these urls many times and cleared cache & they will just come back again.
And they will alwasy come back because they are created by Joomla or your site extensions, and sh404SEF just turns them to SEF and store them in the database.

Joomla shURL on
There's no such thing as Joomla shURL. Surely you must mistake shURL with SEF. Joomla SEF must be enabled. AFAIK, Virtuermart does have a setting for SEF URLs, so I guess it should be on.
