Hi

You screenshot doesn't look right: you have selected to use "Google Tags manager" yet your web site id has been entered in the "Web property ID" input box instead of the "Google Tags manager ID"

Be sure to clean Joomla system cache (Menu System -> Clear cache) after changing these settings, as queries to Google are cached for some times.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I've fix the mentioned, i follow the tutorial and select Universal, and input the Web Property ID. I've also cleared the cache

However, when i try to authorize, i get the same error. And when go to Analytics tab, it shows me "Error connecting to Google Analytics: Not authenticated yet. Please finish Analytics configuration."

Hi

"Empty response connecting to remote server" looks like your server PHP setting doesn't allow remote connections, though I'm not sure as probably other things could break.

it shows me "Error connecting to Google Analytics: Not authenticated yet. Please finish Analytics configuration."

These errors are normal as long as the authorization procedure has not completed and the config (including Google Analytics tokens) has not been saved properly.

Could you:

1 - Clear Joomla cache: go to Joomla System menu > Clear cache, and then delete anything that's marked as "sh404sef", both on the site and admin sides
2 - When you've cleared all cached data, go to Joomla config, then Server tab and set "Error reporting" to maximum.
3 - Redo the authorization procedure and see if it works now.

hi,

thank you for your reply, i've followed the steps and took some screenshots as per attached. Do inform if i'm doing it wrong but, it still doesnt help. Still getting error when authorizing goggle analytic

I've also notice a few notification at the dashboard as per attached. is there sth wrong with my sh404SEF setup? should I reinstall it?

The first message is very simple and very explicit. Your setup is not correct, and this is not a problem for sh404SEF but some badly coded extensions may not behave properly.
In pratcice, it means:
- maybe you have not enabled Joomla SEF
- maybe you have set Joomla SEF to add a .html suffix, but not sh404SEF, or vice-versa

You simply need to fix that and make sure sh404SEF and Joomla are configured the same.

2 - Analytics error
As said before, it looks very much like your server is not allowing remote connection.

a - Your screenshot shows only the "Site" cache. Did you also, as instructed, cleared the "Admin" cache?
b - There's little I can do about this, unless I know your Google Analytics username and password.

Again, I suspect your server might be blocking connections, but the only way to know is to test from another server. I can do that, but only if I have your credentials to Google Analytics

thanks, item 1 have been resolved. However item 2 still problem authorizing.
I've cleared both the site and admin cache as instructed. below is my google analytic account

hi,

great news, item 2 have been resolved. Im able to authorize google analytic. issue is due to the firewall option that block connections by my hosting. Configured it and now working.

thanks alot. Btw, im still new about SOE, any advice on resources to lookup and how does sh404SEF helps?

ok, I was pretty sure it was your server not allowing connections. What a pain. Can I know which hosting company you're using, out of which country?

As for resources, well, reading the documentation is not a bad idea ;) Then what you want to do is keep up with SEO news and topics. I read daily sites like moz.com or Search engine land for instance.

Yeah, you were right about the connection from my hosting. Thank you for your recommendation, i'll check it out. Im using ZETTAHOST.COM, i think it is operating out of UK or US company.

OK, never heard of them. Just don't use any kind of free hosting, that's a recipe for trouble, there are just too many limitations.
