Hi

Make sure the "Use URL rewriting" setting in Joomla configuration is properly configured for your site.

Hi

Stop, we talk about only one thing at a time.

I visited your site before answering, and URLs look good and do NOT have /index.php in them.

Where did you find this link http://www.xxxx.com/index.php/sl/brother.html?

I can't see it on the site.

you know ... joomla make many url for same page ... you find only the link that are able on the frontend but many url joomla make for same page ....
xxxx.com and www.xxxx.com is same homepage but you no can find xxxx on my website .... BUT if you write xxxx.com automatically sh404 redirect to www.xxxx.com ... i think that same system need for other link that is generated from joomla .... index.php ...

this is right?

Hi

think that same system need for other link that is generated from joomla .... index.php ...
So you don't have those links on your site?

Joomla will NOT create links with /index.php/ in them, if you have selected "Use URL rewriting", so that it totally not a problem.
In any case, sh404SEF should do that for you in most cases, at least if your web server allows it.
Again, if those links do not exist on your site, then there's no problem.

As for the language, I'm not sure I understand what you mean. I know Virtuemart has its own multilingual system, but I think it's made to work with Joomla mutilingual system. So basically what you should do is work on making your site multilingual?

ok. ... for url with index.php if you are sure that no make problem ....

For language product and categories of virtuemart .... actually i have 3 language but you know ... if i are in some product or categories and change language, i am redirect only to homepage .... for fix this problem i need make for every categories and product an menu in joomla .... 1000 menu is impossible to make in joomla.. is big work ... unmanageable .... is possible , because sh404 manage all url , add tag language in multilingual website that able switch in categories and product??

Hi

No, sh404SEF only transform URLs to SEF, it doesn't create them. The Joomla ML system works by creating associations (between articles). I don't know enough the Virtuemart language system, I would have thought you can also create associations between the products in each language?

yes .... example ... i am in product ITproduct ... if i change language from IT to EN, joomla redirect to EN homepage ... but is better that i am redirect to ENproduct ... ... it is right for you?

Yes, I know that. It's because there's no article or menu item associated. This is absolutely as expected in Joomla multilingual system.

Again, I don't know how Virtuemart multilingual system works. Maybe they have a solution for that. But this is not something sh404SEF can solve. sh404SEF does not create URLs. It only transform them from non-sef to SEF.
You should talk to Virtuemart people for that.

yes, i know but this options no is available for VM ... So, i have an module that solve this problem for VM language redirect ... this module make automatically correct redirect for all VM language but, NO work with sh404 abled ... can you fix this or, maybe add this feature in your component ?? see the code in this little module if you have time :-) ...

Hi

I have looked into your module, and don't see anything special. What's exactly happening?

1 - PLease provide ONE page where you have multilingual content
2 - What are the URLs in the language selector when sh404SEF is enabled
3 - What are the URLs in the language selector when sh404SEF is DISABLED (only Joomla SEF).

I don't see why there would be any difference between Joomla SEF and sh404SEF, unless the module creates the wrong non-sef links.

Also, is this the latest version of this module? where did you get it?

Hi

Well I don't know for sure, it depends on how the menu strcture was set I guess.
Best thing to do right now is

- go to URL manager
- find "home.html"
- add a canonical to it. The canonical should be simply /

no is better make an redirect to /home.html to / ?
Friday, 30 October 2015 12:51 UTC
wb_weeblr
Hi

No, it's not better. A 301 would imply first a loss of time for visitors and also a loss of search engines crawl budget.
A canonical is just fine, it does the same as the redirect (tell search engines to only index /, not home.html), but it doesn't require a redirect.
