Hi

Can I have at least much much more context?

At the very least:

- Joomla version
- sh404SEF version
- PHP version
- what were you doing exactly when this message was displayed.

WebServer to PHP Interface cgi-fcgi
Joomla! Version Joomla! 3.4.5 Stable [ Ember ] 22-October-2015 21:30 GMT

SH version 4.7.0.3065

I am trying through the website front end to add an attachment to an article using an attachment application. Was working before latest update.

I have attached the relevant attachment app..

When I click add attachment as a logged in user the original error shows up in the modal pop up window.

Thanks.....

Using JCE and TinyMCE get the same message.

I have attached the application to this post.

The program is simply called attachments version 3.2.3 from jmcameron.net

Tried uploading the zip file but would not allow to your page. As it is a .zip file.

Hi

No need for that, I'm not going to spend hours trying to setup a test site with an unknown extension.
What I need first is a full access to be able to see the problem on your site. Then, unless I found some simple misconfiguration, the fastest way to go is to make a copy (akeeba) of your site, that I can install on my local machine to debug the PHP in this extension and find why it's causing this problem.

OK

1 first step un-installed sh and all its additional modules. the above version of Sh404.

EDITOR WORKS.

It is one of my favorite article attachment apps. Simple to use and nicely configurable.

2. Re-installed SH 4.7.0.3065
Both Work. Phew.
Should have tried that first.

Thanks.

Hi

2. Re-installed SH 4.7.0.3065

Both Work. Phew.

Should have tried that first.
So very likely this was a bug in that attachment application.

In version 4.7.0, we added a workaround for extensions that have a very common bug: they use relative URL to post data to the site. Relative URLs then generate a 404. Joomla was accepting those URLs, but sh404SEF was not accepting them. As we are a SEO extension, we have to do better than Joomla on those topics.
But many people were having this problem, and didn't understand the bug was in the extensions they were using that we had to do something about it.
It's a slight reduction of SEO quality, but we can't be considered responsible for other people bugs all the time.
