Hi

You only said you wanted to upgrade, we didn't talk about your actual problem.

This problem usually happens in case of multiple Itemids being used in creating links to the homepage (instead of using menu items alias: https://weeblr.com/images/screenshots/Njc53zUHJwGUn1OH7hEFJMM0btMn62.png).
Often, templates makers include wrong link to homepage.

I may be able to understand what's going on if you provide us with superadmin credentials to your website. You can create a temporary account, and delete it afterwards, but it must have superuser level.
