Hello,

It appears, the add-to-cart button stops working on my site when  I update sh404 v 4.4.6.2271 to 4.6.0.2718.

This is one of the K2Store pages of the working copy of the live website.

When I switch off the Enable URL Optimization, the add-to-cart button starts working.
(Also, on live site, I managed to restore the version of the website with sh404 v 4.4.6.2271, and the add-to-cart works fine there.)

Please advise.

Regards,
Tom

Hi

This is a very common bug in some extensions: they use a relative URL instead of an absolute one. You can see that by looking at the error created by the extension when the Add to cart button is pressed:

xxxx

This URL doesn't exist of course and so sh404SEF triggers a 404. Joomla usually allows this, which is a very bad SEO mistake. Being an SEO extension, we cannot allow this. This was allowed for a brief period of time under some circumstances (hence why some older versions allowed it) but that bug was fixed since then.

I'd suggest contacting K2Store developers, shouldn't be hard to fix.

Hi,

Thank you for the screenshots and the follow-up.

FYI, the K2store developer got back to me suggesting that I change the "Use default handler" for Joomla router. I didn't do this before because I forgot that the items I needed to the sef urls of are in K2 not in the K2store.

You may close the ticket, thank you again.

Regards,
Tom

Yep, but instead of doing such suggestions, they should simply fix the bugs in their code. This would save trouble to many people, including you and me.

It's such a common mistake that in version released today, I included a workaround for those bugs. What a waste!
