 Good Afternoon

Many thanks for this component, thank you for all of your work.

If you could get back to me ASAP that would be greatly appreciated, I will certainly be able to post positive reviews regardless but I'd appreciate it if you could help me out.

I bought the component ready for a redesign of a site which needs to go live today for googles algorithm changes tomorrow.

I wanted to preserve the old url's from the previous website.

However, when I set the url's up it doesn't work either with the azura page builder which is in use on my template or with a standard Joomla article.

It seems that I cannot use the .php suffix? I've added this to the options but it hasn't made a difference.

Please refer to http://www.xxxx.co.uk and http://www.xxxx.co.uk/extensions.php which is the page that I am trying to create?

Many Thanks

Daniel

Hi

sh404SEF will work happily with .php extensions or anything else. The problem is not sh404SEF, it's joomla as you can see on the 404 page you get: https://weeblr.com/images/screenshots/f9iGtMubpami4cxYXsMjhlhNNXbNn9.png

Joomla only knows "html", "json" and "raw" views and so it cannot find a view to display.

I have never been really faced with this question, as most people would have moved from .php extensions a long time ago.

I can see 2 options:

1 - switch to .html or without any suffix pages, and put 301 redirects in place in your .htaccess or equivalent file
2 - If you don't have too many pages on that site, you may be able to trick Joomla into thinking your pages are html ss follow (in the URL manager):

a/ delete the extensions.php URL (and all duplicates if any, use the Delete with duplicates button)
a/ create a new URL:
sef: extensions.php
non-sef: index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=xx&view=article&id=nn&format=html

Visit your home page and see if this URL work.

If it works on one URL, renew for each of your main URLs.
It's untested, but it may trick Joomla. There might be side effects, so please test extensively.

Personnally, I'd take the jump and move to html or no extensions URLs.

Thank you so much for getting back to me.

In the short term i'm trying to preserve the "google juice" of the original url's.

I'll try the second option now, thanks for your help here, I'll let you know the results shortly.

Many Thanks

Daniel

Hi There

First of all, thank you very much for your swift response this afternoon, that was extremely helpful.

I went with your suggested option, the first option didn't actually work and I've added redirects to the .htaccess file.

Please let me know where I can post positive reviews, your help today was much appreciated.

Many Thanks

Daniel

Hi

Too bad about the first option. Can you tell me what went wrong? did you get 404s?

As for reviews, there's only one place, that's the JED. The link to sh404SEF page is: Joomle Extensions Directory

It sure helps and is appreciated :)
